Sergio Aguero could be left in Manchester as Argentina travel to Spain next week.
The Manchester City striker has been struggling with a knee injury and missed the victory at Stoke.
Aguero has been in and around Jorge Sampaoli's Argentina squad ahead of their match against Italy at the Etihad Stadium on Friday night but appears likely to remain in the North West.

However the Argentina striker, pictured with Lionel Messi, has played more of a watching role
'We talked to City's doctors about Aguero,' Sampaoli said. 'We've evaluated the situation. He'll probably sit out the first game.
'If there is a substantial improvement he could travel to Madrid to play against Spain, but I see it difficult because of the little time left.'
Aguero has 30 goals in 37 appearances this season but Sampaoli suggested he is not in the form of his life.
'The best Aguero is the one that from Independiente, that's what we want,' he added. 'Sergio is in a great moment.'
And Argentina are wary of Gareth Southgate's England as Sampaoli added: 'England have evolved as a power but mostly the individuals have evolved. England are a threat and need to be watched and looked at.'
Pep Guardiola will be hoping Aguero is fully fit for their next league fixture against Everton
