‘I think they are laughing at us’: Watch Trump suggest ‘stupid investigation’ is hilarious for the Kremlin

During a Tuesday interview with Trish Regan, President Donald Trump

The president has done the rounds with "60 Minutes" and the Associated Press this week in an attempt to get the word out about what he considers successes from his administration.

Trump told the Fox Business host that he thinks Republicans will do really well in the election, but oddly the president said in an AP interview that it's not his fault if they lost.

"I keep hearing about the enthusiasm, the Blue Wave," Trump said. "But I think we have tremendous enthusiasm. I think Justice Kavanaugh, the way he was treated, and the way those Democrat senators treated him is horrible, was horrible by any standard. The line of disgusting things they were saying. The false accusations that were made."

In this interview, however, Trump said "we will win everything" and that's how he'll get "the wall" and other things. The president's party has held every branch of government for the last two years and he's largely been unable to pass his campaign promises as Republicans fracture over the issues.

Trump then swore that with Democrats in Congress, the economy will go into the tank and everything will fail. Citing the jobs numbers for women and people of color, Trump said that those groups will love him, despite seeing the support slide.

Regan said that Trump owns a lot of the responsibility for civility and asked if he intends to help bring the country together. Trump responded by attacking Hillary Clinton.

Regan asked Trump if "the economy will restore civility in America?"

Trump then talked about how the economy will falter under Democrats but that under the GOP it will eventually bring people back together.

After mocking President Barack Obama's performance during the economic depression, Trump then claimed that with the interest rates like what Obama had his economy would be even better.

In the second segment of the interview, President Trump praised Saudi Arabia as a "great ally" complained about Capitol Hill seeking sanctions in response to allegations that the Kingdom murdered Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

"We want to be smart," Trump argued.

The commander-in-chief also lashed out at special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

"It's a con job," Trump said of allegations he conspired with Russia.

He also suggested that Democrats agree with him that the investigation is a "witch hunt."

"They wink at me," Trump claimed.

And again he lashed out at his own Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, for recusing himself from the investigations into Russia meddling and obstruction of justice.

"Who is going to believe I called Russia to give me help?" Trump asked, before claiming vindication by congressional Republicans.

"I think they are laughing at us," Trump said of Russia. "This stupid investigation hurts us from having a great relationship."

He also wanted an investigation launched into why then-President Barack Obama "did nothing" to stop Russian meddling during the 2016 campaign.

Trump repeated three times that he told Putin, "no more meddling."

The commander-in-chief ended by promising the Fox personality that "we will have other conversations."
