Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó announced that no representative of his government will attend next week’s European parliament debate on the rule of law situation in Hungary.

Szijjarto called the debate a stunt for the upcoming European election campaign.

The debate was asked for by the Green Party to discuss the departure of Central European University, the new law on extra-hours and recent antigovernment protests.
